What?! 500 posts? That deserves a contest!

As I was daydreaming, my 500th post was, fittingly, about Frenchy's. I think that 500 posts deserves a contest! The winner will receive two bars of soap handmade by moi - one Vanilla Peppermint, and one Mango Smoothie (unless you happen to have a citrus allergy, in which case substitution can be made.)

To enter, leave a comment about what you like the best about the 500 previous posts - it can be as vague or as specific as you like. You have until midnight (Atlantic) Tuesday January 29th to enter, and I will randomly draw a winner on Wednesday when I get home from work.

Happy commenting!

I like simple things (hence the name of my blog) and these 500 posts have been full of simple beauty.
Oh, and I'm a sucker for a cute baby! :o)

I've been reading your blog now for about a year and have never commented, so let me start by saying thanks for all the late night reading and beautiful photography. I've really enjoyed getting to know a person I've never met and porbably never will.

My two favorite things about your blog are #1 the photos...they really showcase beauty in such simple, random things that I never have taken the time to admire until I see them on your blog. #2 I get some great idea's from your blog, I loved seeing how you decorated your nursery and cute ideas like the pillowcases for a headboard.

So again thanks, and I look forward to the nex 500 posts!

My favorite thing about the last 500 posts is little baby Phillip... it's a huge blessing for us to get to see him in all his different stages even though we're so far away...

We also just like keeping up with what's going on with you and Adam. We miss you guys!

Oh! Happy 500th! What I love about your blog are the crafts, of course. But in the past few months, I've greatly enjoyed all the stories and photos of Phillip!!

Your blog was my very first blog I read - almost a year ago. I check it every day to see what creative project you are working on. I love the quality of your pictures, I've already tried some of your recipes and I enjoy seeing pictures of your beautiful little boy. All in all... I love your blog. Keep up the good work and thanks for being an inspiration.

hey i've been reading your blog for awhile now and i love everything about it. my fav would have to be your little boy. i also have a little boy--he's 6 months old now so it's great to see what he'll be going through since i believe your little boy is a bit older! i love your pictures. one of my favs was of your little boy eating peaches or something and the face he made. it's funny cause my boy just started eating solids and he LOVES all of his food. He will NOT make any faces whatsoever. it's also great to see all your recipes and home projects! Keep up the great blog!!!

Hi Sherrie,
500 posts - congratulations! Well, I absolutely love rading your blog. I love the photos and the recipes and the crafts and the stunning regularity you manage to pull off. I guess what makes the blog so good...is you! So thanks!
By the way, I haven't forgotten about the trade, we are just really behind on the toys right now. I'm in the process of making up some pull-toys, and Jai is in the process of turning some tops, so if you let me know what you want, I will make sure to slip your order in. Your soap almost looks good enough to eat! Talk to you soon, Lauren

Oops, I guess I should proof-read BEFORE I post! Um, I don't know what rading is, but it sounds vaguely rude. Sorry about that!

Wow, thanks for all of the comments! Keep them coming, especially if you've never commented before!

I guess I will have to go out on a limb here, and vote for the photography, the simplicity, the inspiration, and of course the Phillip.

I love reading your blog because you just seem to wear a calm and knowing smile as you create each post.

Oh yes, and the peas-and-toes pics are some of my most favouritests.

I read every day (and I'm sad if you're not there) because you are able to say the things I think, take the pictures I wish I could, and strive to live your life with the same principles I strive for. Your best post ever for me was the middle of the night honesty post about how difficult it is to be a new mum - my daughter is now 4 1/2 months and when I read that I knew I wasn't on my own. Thank you for that when I really really needed it. My love and best wishes to you and your family - I look forward to being inspired by the next 500 posts.

Oops! I mis-posted.

Happy 500!
So one of the many things I enjoy about your blog is your green/ back-to-basics/ do-it-yourself approach to living. It's not only inspiring but has made me more concientious about what I buy and what I use.
Looking forward to the next 500!

Hey Sherrie:) I love reading your blog...I probably check it once a day and I'm bummed if you don't have a new post up! I love the ideas for reusing "stuff" that you find. I must say, though, that Philip's my favourite part...good addition to the blog:)

Take care
Amy
